Trump Pledges to Secure the Grid

President-Elect Donald Trump pledged to make the vulnerable power grid a national security priority. I learned about the vulnerability of our vital infrastructure in the research I did for my realistic thriller Patriarch Run. The bad guy in my story intends to kill you, me and everyone we love by taking down the grid with a sophisticated cyberattack. Although my story is fiction, this threat is not. The threat is real and extremely serious. You can learn more about this threat at my Discussion Guide.

On 21 November 2016, President-Elect Donald Trump laid out the executive actions he intends to take on the first day of his presidency. As a part of those actions he stated that he would ask “the Department of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to develop a comprehensive plan to protect America’s vital infrastructure from cyber attacks and all other form of attacks.”

I should also disclose that the accuracyin relation to this national security threat, of my novel Patriarch Run paved the way for me to become involved in this critical issue. I serve as the Director of Public Relations for the Colorado EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security, which means I work for Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, Chief of Staff of the 2016 Congressional EMP Commission and author of Blackout Wars. Our mission is simple: to persuade America to secure the grid.
